· The minimum land is 25 acres for the development of Serviced housing plots.
·A minimum area of about 50,000 sq. meters is required for building up construction-development projects.
·Any one of the above condition will be satisfactory for a combination project.
· The Minimum capitalization of USD 5 million for joint investments and USD 10 million for fully owned property.
· The original investment made, cannot be repatriated before the term of three years from fulfilling minimum capitalization requirements. The investor can be repatriated early only by the permission of the former Government.
Under above mentioned instances, investments includes the development of townships, residential developments, retail malls, commercial office spaces and IT parks, hotels and leisure resorts. Foreign developers can also invest in infrastructure projects, liable to the above criterions. Therefore, an investor is not allowed to sell any undeveloped plots, neither is the investor allowed to invest in plantations, agricultural land, or farm houses in India.
